질문: Recycling is a common practice. How do people in your country recycle? What kind of items do people usually recycle? What is special about recycling? Please tell me about the recycling system in your country in detail.

답변: In our country, recycling is an important part of our lives. Most people participate through a well-established system. Mainly, households separate recyclables like glass, paper, metal into designated bins provided by local authorities. Commonly recycled items include packaging materials, newspapers, plastic bottles, aluminum cans, and glass containers. Some people even participate in electronic waste recycling programs. Now, what makes recycling special here is the emphasis on community involvement. Beyond individual efforts, local initiatives and events promote environmental consciousness. Educational programs in schools also encourage responsible disposal and emphasize the positive impact of recycling on our ecosystem. Speaking of the recycling system in our country, First of all, when we throw away the recyclables in the bins in our communities, collection trucks regularly pick up those separated recyclables, then they are transported to specialized facilities. After that, the recyclables are processed and sent for recycling or repurposing, which contributes to the circular economy. That's all of the recycling system in our country.

질문: Tell me, how do you recycle at home? What items do you usually recycle? How often do you take out recyclable items? Where do you take the recycling items to? Describe each step you take when you recycle at home.

답변: When I am at home, I typically recycle clothing and glass containers. When my clothes become worn, I take those clothes to a laundry service and ask them to transform them into new styles. As for glass containers, I often repurpose them for holding water or flowers. I usually take out recyclable items once a week, mostly on Wednesday. This is because the pick-up trucks for recyclables come to our community on Thursday, and the local authorities collect them on Wednesday as preparation. Speaking of the specific steps, firstly, I separate the recyclables into different bins at home. Then I bring them to the designated collection point. If I find any non-recyclable items mixed in, I make sure to separate them again. After that, I dispose of the gathered recyclables and then take a break when I'm back home.

질문: Sometimes, problems can occur while recycling. Perhaps, the pick-up service did not come as planned, or the recycling items were too big for the containers, so you spilled the recycling items. Tell me what happened and how did you deal with it in detail.

답변: Yeah, I've had moments when the pick-up service just didn't show up. However, I am not really the super organized type, so instead of stressing about it, I would just push the plan to the next week. And you know, when it comes to dealing with recycling items that are too big, it's not a big deal for me. In our community, if I have got something too large for the recycling bins, I can hit up (ask) the folks(workers) from the community authorities, and they help me dispose of them. But yeah, for this service, (it's not a freebie), I need to pay some amount of cash. Like, for the small stuff, it's around 1000 to 3000 Korean Won, but if it is something big like a fridge(refrigerator) or a desk, then you need to pay a bit more(= you're looking at a bit more), like 5000 to 10000 Korean Won.
